Large areas of rugged sandstone country have been dedicated to National Parks like the Ku-ring-gai Chase on Cowan Creek and Marramarra on Berowra Creek. The relatively undisturbed bushland together with the striking sandstone scenery, spectacular gorges and cliffs provide a magnificent backdrop for a houseboat holiday.
